  • Performance

Ultimately, our performance must be judged by New Zealanders who won't be eligible to retire for 22 years at least - and by their children and grandchildren.

In the meantime, we accept that how The New Zealand Superannuation Fund performs throughout its existence is - and should be - of interest to New Zealanders. We'd just note that the Fund is only a short distance into its mission and we believe it is very important to judge the short-term performance of the Fund, good or bad, against that.

There is considerable transparency about the financial performance of the Fund - few if any other long-term investors report monthly investment returns - and we strive to be as open as we can about what we do, how and why.

In this section we set out our investment performance, discuss how our open-ness measures up against other Sovereign Wealth-type Funds and provide copies of the various independent reports which have been done on our governance of the Fund.
